Velda Louise Collier

Velda Louise Collier, age 85, of Jackson passed away on January 7, 2026. She was born on December 8, 1940 to the late Monroe and Leona Carter. She was also preceded by her husband; John Wesley Collier, Sr., a daughter, sister and 7 brothers. She is survived by her children; Mark Collier of Hampton; Kathleen Collier (Jeff) Buckner of Jonesboro, Tina Collier (Michael) Frady of Jackson, siblings; Ralph Carter of TN, Layne Carter of TN, grandchildren; Priscilla (Michael) Woodham, Carey Collier, Hunter (Laura) Collier, Kaitlin Coursey, Audrey Louise Ballou, Ansley Ballou, great grandchildren, Dalton Woodham, Aaron Woodham, Kaidon Louise Shepherd, great great grandchildren, Dayton Woodham, Collins Collier, Luke Collier, numerous nieces, nephews, best friend; Brenda Williamson and extended family. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Chapel of Ford Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 4 PM till 6 PM at the funeral home and on Monday from 12 Noon till 1 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
