Velda Jackson Obituary
She was born April 22, 1954, in Staunton, Virginia, the daughter of the late Russel Elwood Sprouse and Rosetta Hostetter Sprouse.
Velda was formerly employed as a mess hall cook for the U.S. Army.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family, her friends, shopping, and food.
Velda is survived by her daughter: Windy Gendron and husband Scott of Craigsville; grandsons: Wayne Sprouse and wife Heather of Deerfield, Walton Sprouse and wife Tori of Craigsville; great grandsons: Samuel Sprouse, Parker Sprouse; brothers: Ronald Sprouse and wife Rosie of Craigsville, Rusty Sprouse and wife Monica of Craigsville; sister: Judy Hall and husband Glenn of North Carolina; sisters-in-law: Tammy Staton of West Augusta, Debbie Jackson of Raphine, Vickie Johnson of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Jackson; a son-in-law: Rodney Sprouse; and a special brother-in-law: Ernie Hall.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, at People's Baptist Church with Brother Robert Hale officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah.

Hey mama bear I miss you it´s not the same not seeing you here everyday and me checking in on you I will miss you giving me snacks and food and just hearing you talk I miss you a lot and I really wish I was here to say goodbye but this isn´t goodbye it´s see you later you fought a good fight hunny and nw go take your rest you have done your work that god put you here to do I love you
