VELDA M. MODEL

MODEL, Velda M. Age 74, passed away Friday, October 1, surrounded by her family. Born in Albany, NY she was the daughter of the late Everett and Ellen (Williman) Oldreik, and the beloved wife of Jeremiah B. Model, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Velda shared deep empathy for others. She was warm and gracious, and thoughtful and kind to people and animals alike. She loved her cat but worried for the chipmunks. When her sons brought friends to the house, she welcomed them with genuine delight and without reservation. Velda enjoyed reading and attending theatre. She loved travel and planned numerous trips and vacations with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband Jerry, Velda was survived by two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Julie Bloom of Chicago, IL, and Jonathan of New York, NY. She also leaves her brother, Richard Oldreik of West Deptford, NJ; her nephew Ryan Oldreik and his wife Courteney Knight of Cherry Hill, NJ; and her grandnephew, Theodore Oldreik. Funeral Services for Velda will be held privately.
