Velma Rose (Hickam) Schull, 85, of Boonville, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Sante Fe Trail Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10-11Am Saturday at the church with a meal to follow for family and friends in the church fellowship hall.
Velma was born July 15, 1939, to Ray P. Hickam and Ella (Galliher) Hickam. She graduated from Jamestown High School. She married Alexander Victor Schull of Jamestown, MO on September 18, 1959, and had 3 children, Scotty Eugene Schull, Sheryl Lynn (Schull) Bader, and Baby Boy Schull who passed away at birth. Velma was a long-time member of Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church in Boonville, MO. Velma worked many years at Cooper County Memorial hospital as well as the old St. Joseph Hospital. She took her love of sewing and made it into a small alteration business from her home when her health no longer allowed her to work outside the home.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ray & Ella Hickam, husband Alex Schull, 2 infant sisters – Lois Hickam and Virginia Hickam, son Baby Boy Schull, son Scotty Schull. She is survived by daughter Sheryl Bader of Boonville, MO; 3 grandchildren Cody Schull (Jennifer) of Roseburg, OR, Brandon Bader of Columbia, MO & Ethan Bader (Hallie) of Bunceton, MO, great grandson Opie Bader of Bunceton, MO and several nieces and nephews and great nieces & nephews.
Memorials suggested to Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church pantry fund or kitchen fund.
