Velma Lois Sutton, 86, of Kensett, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at home. She was born November 7, 1939 in Bald Knob to the late Clarance M. and Alta Perille (Crosby) Ramsey.
For 43 years, she stood faithfully beside her husband in ministry. She did not simply share in his work, she lived it. She was a longtime member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Beyond the church walls, she faithfully supported her husband throughout his military service. During two memorable years spent in Scotland, she embraced a new country and culture with grace, creating a warm and loving home no matter where they were stationed.
She is survived by her son, Orval Earl Sutton and his wife, Lori "Dede" of Conway; daughters, Theresa Wilds of North Carolina and Charlotte Sutton of Beebe; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl Howard Sutton, and two infant sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to five wonderful women who lovingly cared for their mother over the past three years: Carol Master, Karen Acuff, Kimberly Janis, Kristy Harvell, and Kara McFadden. You truly became like family.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 20, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Searcy McEuen Funeral Home with services to begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia.
