Funeral services for Ms. Modene Vailes will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, August 30, 2025 in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Mike Prestininzi, Ben Holt, and Chris Smith officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior from 11 A.M. till service time. Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery near Medina.
Ms. Vailes, age 83, passed to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital with loving family by her side.
Modene was born in Gibson County, TN to the late Floyd Jake Test and Velma Opal Neisler Test. In 1960, she married Jerry W. Vailes who passed in 2010 after 50 years of marriage. When not caring for her family, Modene drove a school bus and after retiring she loved to “antique”, go to auctions, watch Westerns, and work crossword puzzles. However her greatest pleasure was being Mamadene to all those that loved her.
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Vailes; and a sister, Wynojean Denton.
Ms. Vailes is survived by her son, Jeremy (Larami) Vailes; daughter, Lisa (Chuck) Heglar; sister, Betty C. Totty; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are: Jeremy Vailes, Jake Heglar, Lance Epperson, John Cavaness, Caleb Black, Michael Travis.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for memorials to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
