Vendetta Maureen Vita (née Healey)

1952–2025

Vendetta Maureen Vita of Kings Park, NY, passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2025, after an illness. She was 72 years old.

Born in Amityville, Vendetta grew up in Kings Park, the community she cherished and chose to remain in as she raised her own family. Known for her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved, she built a life centered on family, community, and deep-rooted friendships.

She is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Healey; her brother, Glenn Healey; her brother-in-law, James Vita, and her grandparents. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Vita; her mother, Rose Healey (nee Goodge); her son, Charles, and his wife, Cristin; her daughter, Leea Betts, and her husband, Jim; and her treasured grandchildren-Melody, Victoria, Carlee, Nora, Emmalee, and Joseph-who brought her endless pride and joy. She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law, Peter (Gudmunda) and Arthur (Suzanne), her sister-in-law Cheryle Amato, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will all forever remember her kindness, hospitality, and generous spirit.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Clayton Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 29, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Smithtown, NY.

Vendetta's legacy of love, loyalty, and generosity will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
