Vera Crump Barton

Vera Barton, age 93 of Gordon County died at 3:49 AM, Saturday.

She was born, on May 27, 1930, the daughter of the late, Martin Monroe Crump and the former Miss Virginia Lenora Sisson. Also, she was preceded in death by a brother Doyal Crump, and sisters-in-law, Lora Bell Crump and Glennice Moore Crump.

Vera spent her working career as a hairdresser and beautician. She was an avid gardener who particularly loved growing flowers. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was a member of the First Baptist church.

Vera is survived by one brother, Donal Crump, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 23 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Tuesday preceding the funeral. The burial will be in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Bill Michaud, Bart DeFoor, Jason Hooper, Kelby Holbrook, Michael Langston, Mac Knight, and Alvin Long.

The Barton and Crump family offer special thanks to the staff of Tapestry Hospice and two personal caregivers, Lisa Duvall and Lana Spencer.
