Vera Louise Baugh Griffey was born October 15, 1955, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late George Sr. and Birdie Baugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother(s), John Gentry Jr., George Baugh Jr., Edward Thomas Baugh. 

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at MT. Zion Baptist Church. During her earlier years, she sang in the youth choir and worked with the meals on wheels team. She loved the Lord and being in the company of her close family and friends. She was also a 50+ member at the church. Vera was educated in Nashville Public Schools, graduating from North High School. 

She excelled in her studies and graduated. Vera attended college at Tennessee State University. She met the love of her life and best friend Larry Griffey and married him on April 5, 1999, and enjoyed twenty-six wonderful years together as husband and wife. 

Vera worked at Ford Glass Plant for 30 years and retired in 2007. During her post-retirement years, she traveled with her husband Larry and one of their favorite past times was visiting Casinos in various states. She also enjoyed exercising and attending her sewing class once a week with Julia’s Centennial Park Quilting Class. 

She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Larry Griffey; devoted daughter, KeJuanis (Darrell) Hughes, children, Larry (Shavon) Griffey, Anthony (Alexandria) Griffey, Sonya Crenshaw, and Sandrica (LeAndra) Griffey, siblings: brother, Theodore Gentry, sisters, Mattie Williams, Opal Scales, Selena Bowers, devoted grandchildren, Charles Muse Jr., Christina Wallace, Mark Wallace and devoted grandchild, Taniya Williams, sisters in-law, Gwen Woods, Deborah Coleman, Theresa Miller, Yolanda (Bobby) Ford, and Cheryl Bryant, brothers in-law, William Griffey, Eric (Kimberly) Barefield, and Terrance Griffey, devoted friend, Charlotte Cromwell; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews along with great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.
