Vera Moore

Vera Moore HODGES -- Vera Blackwell Moore, 89, widow of Robert Leslie Moore, formerly of 708 Morgan Road, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Petra Health and Rehab of McCormick. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Joel and Janie Robertson Blackwell. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Co. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James ( Patsy ) Madden of Hodges; a sister, Clara Jane Brooks of Laurens; a sister-in-law, Audrey Blackwell of Laurens; three grandchildren, Billy Wayne Moore, Travis Dewayne Moore, and Lesley Madden Saxon; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Larry W. Moore; three brothers, Earl, Haskell, and Joel Aaron Blackwell. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brian Saxon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Parker-White Funeral Home prior to the service. The family is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James (Patsy) Madden, 802 Morgan Road, Hodges.
