Vera Lore Peterburs

Vera Lore Peterburs, age 98 of Peoria, passed away at 5:29 AM on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Lutheran Hillside Village.
Vera was born in Essen, Germany to Josef and Bernadine H. (Thiemann) Poggenpohl. On September 25, 1954, Vera married Joseph Peterburs and together they cherished 32 years until his passing on August 25, 1987. Vera retired from OSF College of Nursing, was a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and also a member of several organizations. She loved traveling the world, spending time with her family, and was a soccer enthusiast.
Survivors include three sons: Mark (Mary) of Keene, NH, Steven (Brenda) of Morton, IL and Joseph (Julie) of St. Charles, IL; seven grandchildren: Mia, Jenna, Christopher, Samantha, Brittany, Matthew and Kate; four great-grandchildren: Joseph, Evie, Adeline and Zachary; one sister Hildegard Stein and nephew Thomas Stein and family.
Per Vera's wishes cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
