Vera Jean Speicher, aged 57, passed away peacefully at her home in Westover, West Virginia, on the 7th of September, 2025. Born on the 19th of April, 1968, in Philippi, WV, to George Shine, Sr. and Mildred Golden Shine, both of whom predeceased her, Vera's warm smile and gentle manner will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Vera is survived by a loving family: her brothers, George Shine, Jr., Alan Oscher, Lewie Shine accompanied by his wife JoLynn, Frank Shine beside his wife Denise, Ron Shine with his wife Deb, and a brother-in-law, Larry Moore. She was a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews and a cherished member of a large extended family, including several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her sisters, Marsha Booth and Darlene Moore, and her sister-in-law, Tina Shine, preceded Vera in death, leaving behind precious memories of their times together.

Vera dedicated her life to caring for others, a testament to her compassionate spirit. She served with devotion as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Albert Gallatin Home Health and Hospice and continued her calling at Mon General Hospital to help those in need. In her most recent role at the VA Medical Center, Vera's nurturing touch and steadfast presence brought comfort and relief to countless individuals.

With an infectious love for life, Vera reveled in the simple pleasures. She was an ardent fan of WVU sports and the Dallas Cowboys, and found joy tending to her garden, where she cultivated not only plants but joy for family and friends. Those who were fortunate to spend time with Vera, whether it be cheering at a televised game or sharing stories over weeded flowerbeds, knew they were in the company of a true friend.

Vera's legacy of kindness and unwavering friendship is encapsulated in the word "friendly," a simple yet profound descriptor of a woman who lived to make others feel seen, heard, and loved.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Vera's memory to Stepping Stones at 400 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV, 26501, in memory of her nephew Adam Shine.

Friends are invited to gather and commemorate Vera's life at the McCulla Funeral Home on the 11th of September, 2025, from 6 pm to 9 pm. In honoring Vera's wishes, McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services following the gathering. The Shine family invites all who knew Vera to join them in celebrating her heartfelt impact on so many lives. Online condolences and treasured memories can be shared with the family at www.McCulla.com. Vera's radiant presence will be fiercely missed, yet the warmth she bestowed upon the world will persist through the many hearts she touched.
