Verda Louise Riley

Verda Louise Riley, 67, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday October 26, 2025, at Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation. She was born October 2, 1958, in Daviess County, to the late Robert Riley Sr. and Anita Louise Vincent Riley. Verda was a longtime resident of River Valley, where many of the staff there became her close friends, and she was also a member of Harvest Temple Baptist Church. Verda enjoyed participating in many activities in the places that she was a resident, going out to eat, playing bingo, attending concerts, visiting the casino, and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. Most of all, Verda loved spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Riley.

Verda is survived by a brother, Robert (Dorothy) Riley Jr., sister-in-law, Peggy Riley and a sister, Linda (Terry) Sparks; a special aunt, June Ann Riley; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Verda will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Tommy Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in Barnetts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
