Verlene J. Rogers, 90, passed away on January 27, 2025. She was born in Morehouse, Missouri to the late Clyde and Esther Acord.
Verlene moved with her family to the Kokomo area where she attended Kokomo schools. She met Charles D. Rogers and the couple married in March 29, 1957. Verlene was a loving wife and mother and dedicated her early working years to being at home with them. After her children were in school she entered the workforce working for Delco Electronics from where she retired.
In her free time she enjoyed camping, traveling and most importantly she loved spending time with her family. Family, friends, neighbors and strangers were the recipients of her generosity, Verlene had a true servant heart. Her kindness and loving ways will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Charles (Mary) Rogers, Hartford City, Indiana; Zandy (Tim) Kiefer, Port Orange, Florida; brother, Norman Acord, Peru; five grandchildren, Joshua (Lisa) Keifer and Jeremiah (Lindsay) Keifer, both of Florida; Brett (Candice) Rogers, Elwood; Michael Rogers, Hartford City; Jessica Rogers, Muncie; 7 great-grandchildren, Zoey, Jacob, Liam, Lane, Everett, Jayce and Loper.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Acord; siblings, William Acord, Junior Acord and Sylvia Nolley.
A memorial visitation will be held will be held from 10am-12pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 East Marion Street, Converse, Indiana. The funeral service will begin at noon.
