A Beautiful Legacy
Lady Verna accepted Christ at a young age. She love and enjoyed worshipping The Lord as her life matriculated. As a native East St. Louisian she attended the local Catholic Schools and East St. Louis School District 189.
Lady Verna was united in Holy Matrimony to Valcus S. Lovelace to this union they were blessed with three sons, Vintrel, Victor and Vermond Lovelace. Lady Verna was a Phenomenal Matriarch, who was powerful, influential and wise woman to her family and community.
They later moved to Tacoma, Washington where Valcus was stationed for his military duties as Joint Base Lewis McChord. Lady Verna worked in the Medical field at different facilities. She ended her career at St. Joseph's Hospital where she retired after 30 plus years as a dedicated Dialysis Technician. Lady Verna had a presence about her that where ever she went she never met anyone that she couldn't make a friend. Her smile would light up the place fill it with a sense of love. She was preceded in death by her parents; Willie and Rosie Lee two brothers Willie and Marcus, one son Vermond and a host of love ones.
Her memories will be eternally cherished by her sons Vintrel (Tiffany), Victor (Roseanna), grandchildren, Trayvon, Evan, Marquez, Vermond Jr., Zarkari, her only granddaughter Nariah, great grandson Vintrel, brother, Marvin (Delesia) Washington. Additional grandchildren are Nadia, Taya, Rhonda, Bianca, Raquel, Gabriel, great granddaughter Avalee, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends near and far. Longtime friend Brenda Long of 30 years.
Visitation will be held September 5, 2025-3pm-6pm at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1pm at Sheridan Street Church of God 2303 S Sheridan Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405
