Vernell Tacey Obituary
Vernell passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at his home at the age of 70. The son of the late Norbert and Lottie (Kosnik) Tacey was born May 31, 1954 in Bay City, Michigan. Vernell was an avid pool player, enjoyed playing pinochle with his siblings, traveling and going out to eat, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Vernell is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cindy; two daughters, Michelle (Joe) Manko and Anna Tacey and her significant other, Greg Beachy; four grandchildren, Maria Schalk, Nathan Manko, Dominic Schalk and Noelle Manko; three brothers, Larry (Margaret) Tacey, Dennis (Janine) Tacey and Michael “Mickey” Tacey and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Candice Schalk; one brother, John (Sue) Tacey and four sisters, Marilyn (Joe) Burke, Kathy LeCronier, Christine Yarabek and Connie Martin.
A celebration of life will take place from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
