Vernell T. Webber

Mr. Vernell Webber, affectionately referred to as 'Frog' son of the late George Webber Sr. and Willie Mae Erving Webber was born on July 14,1936 in
West Point, Mississippi. He moved to Kansas City, Kansas with his family in his early years and attended KCK public schools where he graduated from Sumner
High School class of 1953.
After graduation, he went to work at Sam's Pawn Shop on Minnesota Ave. Vernell enlisted in the Army in May 1958 and discharged May 1964. He was
stationed at Fort McClellan, Alabama.
He moved to Gary Indiana in 1961. There he was united in holly matrimony to Barbara J. Nelson in August 1961. To this union was blessed with two daughters,
Joni Jeanell Webber and Jennifer Marie Webber. The union was dissolved in June 1980. They remained civil and loving parents until they both departed
this world 6 weeks apart.
Vernell worked for Corn Products in Argo, Illinois from 1964 - 1974. Then, went to work for United Airlines in Chicago, Illinois as a ramp serviceman from
1974 - 1983 when he went out on disability. He also was a member of Amvest Post #6.
Vernell departed this life at Olathe Medical Center on September 20,2022. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife and sister-in-law.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children; Joni J. Webber of Olathe, Kansas; and Jennifer M. Webber of Garner, North Carolina; one grandaughter
Kennedy Joi Webber of Olathe, Kansas; one brother George Webber Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; a niece and nephew, cousins and friends.
