Vernie Crosby Obituary
Inez Crosby passed away on December 12, 2025, at Crowne Health Care of Thomasville. Born on May 28, 1934, in Choctaw County, Alabama, she was the daughter of Samuel O. Andrews and Leatha Edna Moore Andrews, and one of thirteen siblings. She married George Thomas Crosby and raised a family that included four sons and one daughter. Vernie dedicated 26 years of her life as a seamstress at Vanity Fair before her retirement. A devoted member of Hopewell Baptist Church, she found joy in her flower gardens and embraced the outdoors, spending cherished time with her grandsons hunting. Above all, she loved her family deeply. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, leaving behind an irreplaceable void in their lives.
She is survived by her son, Jody Crosby and wife Wanda of Thomasville; son, Thomas Crosby and wife Rada of Sweetwater; son, Jason Crosby and wife Sharon of Pine Hill; daughter, Carol Hepstall of Panama City Beach, Florida; daughter-in-law, Becky Crosby of Butler; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Crosby; parents, Samuel O. Andrews and Leatha Edna Moore Andrews; son, Harry Crosby; grandson, Clay Crosby; and twelve siblings.
Pallbearers include Stephen Crosby, Michael Crosby, Marc Crosby, David Crosby, Lucas Burkett, Frank Burkett, Zachary Crosby, Zane Crosby, Cory Crosby, and Justin Crosby.
The family kindly request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org in memory of Ms. Inez.
