Born on December 25, 1932 in Townsend, DE to the late George Henry Blanchfield and Jennie M. Foraker. Vernon spent his life grounded in strong family ties and a devotion to his Country.
A Proud Veteran, Vernon joined the United States Army at the age of 18, serving honorably in the Korean War. Vernon was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray, Edward, William "Pete", and Roger Foraker, sister, Janet Willy.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie (Waters); son, Vernon E. Foraker, Jr. (Janet); grandchildren, Jennie Marie and Eric Marcus; niece, Dana (Mike) Waters-Adams; children, Karley, Payton, and Abigail; and numerous brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Vernon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held for family and friends at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE on Friday, June 18th, viewing will be from 10-11 am, the service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
