Vernon Wesley Pierce

Vernon Wesley Pierce, 83, born October 25, 1942, passed away on November 9, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children. Vernon was an avid outdoorsman who loved the swamp, and he was a dedicated hunter and fisherman. A faithful member of Rosedale Methodist Church, he was also deeply involved in his community. He served 18 years as an elected board member for Singing River Hospital. He was President of the Mississippi Pawnbrokers Association and served on the National Pawnbrokers Board, where he was instrumental in changing the image of pawn stores across the state and nation. He worked in real estate after retiring from the Pawn Business and was a member of the East Central Masonic Lodge No. 631. Also, Vernon was the owner of Pinolene Products, and he traveled across the state selling Pinolene. Vernon provided Pinolene for many mission trips. His Pinolene has even made its way as far as the Ukraine. Throughout the years Vernon extended generosity to those in need.
Preceded in death by his baby daughter, Della Inez Pierce; son, Don Harrell; father, Wesley Warren Pierce; mother, Theresa Inez Barnett Pierce; sisters, Randa Dianne Boren and Judith Levon Carter; brother, Wesley Warren Pierce; brother-in-law, Richard Carter.
Survived by his wife of 34 years, Dianne Pierce; sister, Barbara Faye (Bobby) Stockman
children, Yulonda Pierce Williams, Leslie Vernon (Nickie) Pierce, Amy Lynn (Shawn) Smith, Jeannie (Curt) Williams, Sherri (Steve) Williams; grandchildren, C. J. (Adam) Crow, Jessie (Bradford) Corley, Heath (Crystal) Pierce, Brooke Smith, Nicholas (Alli) Smith, Carrie (Brandon) Gordon, Justin (Hannah) Overstreet, Noah Williams, Ivy (Nick) Paulin, Chris (Daggy) Bull; 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
The Visitation will be Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral will be at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Bozeman and Rev. Les Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Justin Overstreet, Chris Bull, Noah Williams, Buddy Davis, Scott Ryder, and Ben Harrell. Honorary pallbearers include Devere Carter, Brian Carter, and Jarrod Boren.
