Vernon Hoyt Richey, 84, of Seneca, SC, passed away on October 14, 2025. He was born in Anderson County to the late Hoyt and Lois Richey.
Vernon worked and retired from Clemson University in their farming department.
In his free time, Vernon enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time in nature and found joy in these activities.
Vernon's kind spirit and dedication to his work will be remembered by all who knew him.
Vernon is survived by his cherished wife, Joyce Richey; nephews, Ron Gossett (Serena), and Darren Richey (Michelle); and Niece, Janet Bruce (Sam Whitfield)
In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Richey; and sister, Myrtle Richey.
