George Arthur Edmond, Sr., 66, of Pendleton, husband to Donna Swaney Edmond, passed away October 16, 2025.
Born in Central, he was the son of the late Odie Edmond and Gracie Smith Edmond. George worked for many years at Central Textiles before retiring as a Loom Technician. He enjoyed going to the mountains, especially Cherokee, NC, spending time in the woods hunting and fishing, and eating a chili cheeseburger or hot dog from Mac’s Drive-In. His greatest joy was time spent with this family. George adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and the time spent with them.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Donna Swaney Edmond; children, Elizabeth Brown of Anderson, Jessica Bryant of Pendleton, and George A. Edmond, Jr. and wife Toni of Pendleton; grandchildren, Valerie, Daniel, Katlin, Justyn, Alaynna, Michael, and James; sisters, Elaine and Charlene. Mr. Edmond is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
George is predeceased by his parents and brothers, John, Sam, and Joe.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens.
