Vernon Rudolph Stalls Sr.

Vernon Rudolph Stalls, Sr., son of the late Sam & Mae Hobbs Stalls, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 29, 2025, 11AM, in Grace Family Fellowship. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10AM-11AM, at the church.
Rudolph was a native of Martin County, but had lived in Greenville for 30 years. After his home was destroyed by Hurricane Floyd, he moved to Robersonville. He was employed with B.E. Singleton Construction in Washington, NC, until his retirement.
He was a member of Grace Family Fellowship, and enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves games. His biggest joy was his family.
Rudolph was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Velma Mizell Stalls; three brothers, David, Jimmy and Ronald Stalls; four sisters, Dorothy Mozingo, Betty Caudill, Mildred Haislip, and Chris Freeman; and a half-sister, Ruby Thompson.
He is survived by a son, Rudy Stalls and wife, Carla of Sims, North Carolina; two sisters, Elaine Johnson and husband, Bill of Robersonville, and Peggy Lewis and husband, Donald of Robersonville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Paige Stalls Massengill and husband, Trey, Michael Douglas Stalls, and William Anthony Hopkins, Jr. great-grandchildren, Jarrett Vernon Stalls, Madilyn Blair Massengill, Meredith Brooke Massengill, and Alayna Hopkins.
