Vernon M. Wilkinson, 67, a resident of Middle Pownal Road, passed away December 19, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. Vernon was born in Arlington, VT on April 10, 1957 the son of the late Leonard and Meegan Crawford Wilkinson. He attended Arlington schools, graduating from Arlington Memorial High School. Vernon worked for Daley's Concrete for many years, Petrecca and Unistress and was involved as a union labor representative in Massachusetts. He was a huge NASCAR fan, was a football fan of the New England Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed fishing, hunting and work in general. He enjoyed camping, loved his dogs and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Eagles in Bennington. Vernon is survived by his wife Ellen Kelly of Bennington, children Vernon Crandall and Dominic Kelly both of Bennington, Cora Delucia of Essex Junction, VT, Jessica McGuckin and Lori Crandall of Bennington, brothers Myron Wilkinson of Bennington, Mark Wilkinson of Arlington, Gerald Wilkinson and Rick Wilkinson also of Arlington and Walt Wilkinson and Stanley Wilkinson both of Pownal, George McCray of White Creek, sisters Norma Crandall and Gloria Moffitt of Arlington, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by his brother Ernest Wilkinson and sister April Mayer. A celebration of Life for Vernon will be held Saturday January 18, 2024 from 2-4pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, VT. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Vernon's memory may be made to the Eagles Club in Bennington or the Second Chance Animal Shelter, c/o Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home P.O.
