Veronica Alanis Obituary

Veronica Barraza Alanis went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 9, 2026, in Katy, Texas. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her children, as she was called home to eternal rest.

Born and raised in Houston, Veronica was a licensed cosmetologist with a true passion for caring for others. While she loved doing hair, her heart was especially drawn to skincare. She had a special way of making people feel beautiful, valued, and seen. To her family, those moments were even more meaningful, she didn't just provide a service, she created connection, comfort, and love in every touch.

Above all, Veronica was a woman of unwavering faith. She trusted deeply in the Lord, and her life reflected His love through her kindness, strength, and selflessness. She was the heart of her family, the one who prayed, who gave, who showed up no matter the circumstance. Her love was constant, her presence was comforting, and her strength carried those around her through life's hardest moments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Concepcion Urdialez and Jesse Vela Barraza; her beloved husband, Sergio Alanis, who passed in March 2021; and her brothers, George and Richard Barraza.

Veronica leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Natalie Esquivel and her husband Rafael, Michelle Reiss and her husband Adam, and Marissa Ceja; her sons, Robert Ceja and his loving wife Heidi, and Joshua Alanis, whom she lovingly cherished as the youngest. Her children's compassion and strength reflect the values she instilled in him.

She also leaves behind her stepchildren, Sergio, Jessica, Brittney, and Ashley. She is survived by her sisters, Rosemary, Anna, and Christine, and her brother, Johnny.

Her greatest pride and joy were her 15 grandchildren- Carlos, Zoey, Noelle, Christopher, Marcus, Hailey, Charis, Sergio, Navaeh, Jesse, Peanut, John, Rafita, Eli, and Aiden. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she poured her love into them endlessly, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were touched by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She gave endlessly, loved deeply, and carried each of them in her heart every single day. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find peace in knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and resting in His eternal light.

Veronica will be deeply missed beyond words and forever loved. Her faith, her love, and her spirit will continue to live on in all of us. Until we meet again, we hold onto the promise that she is at peace in Heaven.
