Veronica Ann 'Ronnie' Brady, 90, of Riverdale and Inwood, NY, passed away on August 26th at White Oaks Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Veronica was born on August 13, 1935, in New York City to John and Margaret (Clancy) Brady. She attended Good Shepherd School and, for a period, explored a possible vocation as a Catholic nun before ultimately choosing a different path in life.

Ronnie went on to build a career in real estate with Douglas Elliman as well as the Fordham Hill Apartments in the Bronx, where she was known for her motto: "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." Faith was central throughout her life-she was an active member of Good Shepherd Parish in Inwood and later St. Gabriel's Parish in Riverdale.

For over twenty years, Ronnie faithfully traveled each Sunday to Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Westchester, where she volunteered her time teaching inmates how to read.

Though she never married or had children of her own, Ronnie was a devoted aunt to her two nephews and affectionately became "Aunt Ronnie" to many more. She is survived by her nephew John, his wife Meryl, and their children Julia and Daniel; and by her nephew Tom, his wife Lisa, and their children Abbey (and Abbey's children Lucas and Nora), Emma, and Reagan. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (1979) and John (1987), as well as her brother John "Jack" Brady (1991).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 5th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Church in Riverdale. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA).

In her final years living with dementia, Ronnie was blessed with the grace and support of her Riverdale community, whose kindness and care were always present. She spent her last few years at the Bristal Memory Care in Massapequa, where she found friendship and companionship.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
