On Saturday, January 17, 1970, at 7:01 PM, God delivered a beautiful baby girl to Dan Morgan and Kathy "Pat" Ward. Thid little angel was named Veronica Antionette Morgan Driver, known to most as "Row". When she was a little girl, she would spend her time in Carver Heights in Griffin, Georgia, sitting on her grandmother's porch. She was an energetic child that loved to spend time with her family. Growing up, she was a student of the Griffin Spalding County School System. Veronica worked at various companies in Griffin, Georgia until January 17, 2000, when she delivered her baby boy, Jamon.
Veronica loved all the holidays, parades, and fireworks. She would make wreaths and desserts. She always knew how to add joy and hospitality to each occasion. No matter where you saw Veronica, her mom would be right there with her. Row began volunteering at Rushton's Hope and Charlie's Hope Foundation both in Griffin. Veronica also was a caretaker for several families in Spalding County, Georgia. On Saturdays you could catch Veronica at yard sales. She never met an enemy; she had a heart of gold and befriended people throughout the community over the years.
At an early, Veronica attended Achaia Missionary Baptist Church in Griffin, and she later worshipped at Griffin First Assembly of God Church, also in Griffin. She faithfully attended Wednesday Night Bible Study. She packed Christmas shoe boxes, wrapped Christmas presents, and volunteered with other activities for their outreach mission.
Ms. Veronica Antoinette Morgan Driver left her earthly home on Saturday, February 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pete and Anna Laura Morgan, and Lonnie and Rebecca Clemons, her father, Dan Morgan, her stepfather, Reverend Larry Ward, and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her son Jamon Driver, her mother, Kathy "Pat" Ward, her brother Delarrio (Jonda) Ward; her uncles, Lonnie (Bernice) Clemons, Jr., Tim (Melissa) Sims, James Morgan, and Harry Morgan; her nephews, Dylan Ward, Eli Ward, and Landon Ward, and her niece, Ardyn Ward. Veronica also leaves a host of cousins, family members and friends to cherish her memory.
In true Veronica fashion, she left the earth not thinking of herself, but how she could continue to help others. Her gregarious personality won the hearts of the doctors and nurses and staff at the hospital. She offered personal words of comfort and assurance that she was in God's hands and therefore at peace. As an organ donor, her eyes were used to help recipients, thus leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the Chapel at Burden's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. Pastor Ronald K. Adams is the Eulogist.
