In Loving Memory of Veronica Rodriguez
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Veronica Rodriguez, who left us far too soon on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Mission Regional Medical Center. She was only 47 years young, but the Lord saw fit to call an angel home long before her time.
Veronica was born on January 22, 1977, in Laredo, Texas, and in every step of her life, she brought warmth, joy, and love to all who were lucky enough to know her. For her, family always came above all, and she was the epitome of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Veronica had a heart that overflowed with kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Reyes Martinez, and two cherished daughters, Christina Crowell and Yolanda Smith, whom she loved with all her heart. Her family meant the world to her, and every day she reminded them of that through her unwavering support and endless love. Veronica also adored her grandchildren, who were a light in her life.
Her father, Valentin Rodriguez, and her mother, Maria (Danny) Keene, mourn the loss of their precious daughter, while her siblings-Rosemary Lorenzo, Valentin Rodriguez Jr., Nilda Stasson, and Jose Rodriguez-hold dear the countless memories of growing up with their sweet sister. Though her maternal grandparents, Jose Angel and Nicolasa Martinez, have already passed, we find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with them in heaven.
Veronica was a woman of simple joys-she loved spending time at the beach, finding peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. She also enjoyed visiting flea markets, where she found treasures and delighted in the little things. Her vibrant spirit was a beacon to all who knew her, and her laughter, her smile, will never be forgotten.
As her family gathered to say goodbye, they raised a toast in her honor, sharing in a tradition that brought smiles through their tears: "1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila until we meet again at the entrance of the golden gates of heaven." Her memory will live on through the love she gave and the lives she touched.
Per her wishes, Veronica will be cremated, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now an angel watching over them. Funeral arrangements are under the compassionate care of Flores Funeral Home of Mission.
Veronica, you will be missed beyond measure. Until we meet again.
