Sister Veronica Tinseth

Sister Veronica (Veronica Therese) Tinseth died at Seton Residence in Evansville, Indiana October 15, 2025. Sister Veronica was born August 18, 1946, in Duluth, Minnesota and was one of three children of Arnold John and Sophie (Karasiewicz) Tinseth. Sister graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia and entered the Daughters of Charity in Baltimore, Maryland in 1967.
Sister Veronica received a BS in Nursing from Saint Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Maryland in 1970 and an MPH in Public Health Administration from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1975. Sister served as a nurse and as a Home Care Coordinator at St. Vincent Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida and as a nurse at Villa Louise in Baltimore, Maryland. She was also a Home Care Hospice Director at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and a Home Care Hospice Coordinator at Providence Hospital in Washington, D. C. In 1988, she became Administrator of Jenkins Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Sister was then named Board Chair of St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and then Vice President of Mission Services at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland. She came to Evansville as Assistant Seminary Directress at Mater Dei Provincial House and returned to Providence Hospital in Washington, D. C. to serve in Pastoral Care before coming back to Evansville in 2012 to serve in the Ministry of Prayer at Seton Residence.
A Wake Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 20 in the Seton Residence Chapel and the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday, October 21 in the Seton Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Sister was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Mark Tinseth and her sister, Mary Blocker, and she is survived by loving family members, her Sisters in Community and many friends.
