Veronica Renee Wetherall ObituaryVeronica Renee "Ronni" Wetherall (née Schonhardt), 78, passed away on February 22, 2025, in Minnetonka, Minnesota, after her battle with dementia. Born on March 27, 1946, in San Diego, California, Ronni lived a life marked by independence, creativity, and an unwavering spirit.
Ronni was very intelligent and had a keen attention to detail which helped her tremendously as a bookkeeper by trade. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her feisty personality and sharp sense of humor-qualities that endeared her to those around her.
A woman of many talents and passions, Ronni found joy in sewing beautiful clothing, collecting Madame Alexander dolls, creating intricate glass jewelry, growing tomatoes, and more recently, painting. She loved spending time on Lake Minnetonka, whether boating or fishing. Her adventurous spirit even extended to flying small airplanes-a testament to her fearless nature. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, who were cherished companions throughout her life.
Family was at the heart of Ronni's world. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Wetherall; her children, Andy (Jane) Hansen and Ann (Randy) Hart; her stepchildren Julie (Bruce) Browning, John (Michelle) Wetherall, Peter Wetherall, and Janet Finke; and her beloved grandchildren, Justin Hart, Eric Hansen, and Sean Hansen. She also leaves behind her brother Steven (Dee) Schonhardt, sister Judy Dickerson, and sister-in-law Eloise Wetherall, along with nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Florence Stuart; her stepfather John "Jack" Stuart; her sister, Mary Vollum; brothers-in-law, James Dickerson and Charles Wetherall; and stepchildren Bobby Wetherall and Joan Wetherall.
A memorial service will be held on March 8, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home in Excelsior, Minnesota (520 2nd Street). Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the service following at 11:00 AM. A light lunch will follow the service.
Ronni's legacy of strength, creativity, and warmth will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
