Vicki Jean Baird

Vicki Jean Baird, age 67, of Sturgis, Michigan, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 25, 2025, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born July 9, 1958, in Sturgis, Michigan, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Allabach) Kline. Vicki was a lifelong Sturgis resident, with the exception of a few years spent living in Kalamazoo.
Vicki dedicated over 20 years of service to the original Piper's Grinders Galore in Sturgis, owned and operated by Jan and Russ Piper. During that time, she served many years as manager and was well known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She also worked at the Kroger Deli in Sturgis until the store's closing, at Harding's Market, and began her working career right out of high school at the Sturgis Unemployment Office.
In her free time, Vicki enjoyed playing darts and participated in several leagues. She also enjoyed walking and was a homebody who found comfort in being alone. Vicki dearly loved her dog, Deogie (Dog), and cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Nichole Lowman of Plainwell; bonus daughter, Annie Harker of LaGrange, Indiana; grandchildren, Chase Lowman and Paige Lowman; brothers, Larry (Gloria) Kline of Phoenix, Arizona, Jerry Kline and Gary Kline, both of Sturgis; sisters, Connie (Gary) Phillips of Sturgis and Patti Kline of Kailua, Hawaii; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Cary Lynn Baird; her son-in-law, Raymond Lowman; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Kline.
In honoring Vicki's wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date. The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis has been entrusted with the arrangements.
