Vicki Baumgartner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Broussard's Mortuary - Major Drive on Jul. 30, 2024.
Victoria E. Baumgartner, known affectionately as Vicki, passed away on July 27, 2024, at her home in Beaumont, Texas surrounded by her loving children. She was 78 years old. Born on April 14, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of Edward Bilikiewicz and Jane Bergmann.
Vicki's educational journey included an undergraduate degree from Penn State and a master's degree from Villanova University, both in Pennsylvania. Her passion for education led her to a distinguished career as an elementary school teacher in Colorado, where she was recognized as Co Teacher of the Year and earned the prestigious National Board Teacher certification. Her commitment to education and community was further highlighted when she served as an Olympic Torch Bearer in 2002.
Beyond her professional life, Vicki was a woman of many interests including cooking, skiing, hiking, and watching both American football and soccer. Her love for travel took her around the globe with her 2 children in tow, enriching their life with experiences and stories.
Described as generous, smart as a whip, and the most loving mother and grandmother, Vicki's warmth and kindness touched many lives. She is survived by her children, Meggan Baumgartner and Bret Baumgartner; daughters-in-law, Jennifer Hinds and Jarinsi Baumgartner; and granddaughters, Josephine, Mandi and Mia Baumgartner. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Edana Bilikiewicz.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Vicki's memory can be made to Beaumont, Texas Firefighters, P.O. Box 3827, Beaumont, Texas 77704, or Summit County, Colorado Firefighters, P.O. Box 4910 Frisco, Colorado 80443, organizations she deeply appreciated and supported. Vicki's legacy of love, education, and community service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
The family is considering a memorial service in Colorado at a later date. Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, is assisting with the arrangements for Mrs. Baumgartner.
