Funeral Service for Vicki “Nina” Watkins Dais, age 69, of Belton, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Garrett and Steve Crites officiating. Interment will follow at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Anthony Pennington, Taylor Milam, Tristan Pennington, C.J. Donald, Kaleb Donald, and Corey Donald serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Dais passed away at her home on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Vicki Lynn Dais was born on November 29, 1954 in McKinney, Texas to Jackie and Mary (Mitchell) Watkins. She married Mark Dais in Dallas, Texas on April 17, 2004. Vicki was an Optician for many years. She was an active member of the Harker Heights American Legion 573. Vicki was a passionate singer & actress. She was a member of the Community Players, the Forney Opry, and was known by many as the Loretta Lynn of Reilly Springs.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Mark Dais of Belton; father, Jackie Watkins of Reilly Springs; daughters, Malinda Donald of Belton, Misty Pennington (Danyel Glidewell) of Cartwright; grandchildren, Anthony Pennington, Taylor Milam, Tristan Pennington, C.J. Donald, Kaleb Donald, Corey Donald, Keeley Glidewell, Addison Glidewell, Kara Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Brynlie, Rowley, Reece, Oliver, Kennedy, Rider; brothers, Lloyd Watkins (Cindy) of Greenville, Mark Watkins (Christi) of Sulphur Springs, Daryl Watkins (Marty) of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Susan Cody of Garland, Jenny Cockrum (Terry) of Cumby; and twenty-one nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Wheeler, Ted Wheeler, and Glenda Watkins.
