Vicki Rae Danley

Vicki Rae Danley, age 75 of Sidney, IA died on April 22, 2024 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Bellevue, NE. Vicki was born on December 17, 1948 in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of Raymond Danley and Darlene M. (Clapper) Danley.
Vicki graduated from Fremont-Mills High School in 1967 as valedictorian of her class. In high school she was involved in National Honor Society, cheerleading, choir, student council, thespians and speech. Vicki graduated from The University of Iowa with a BA in English in 1973. She was also the valedictorian of her class when she received a Juris Doctor in Law in 1976, also from The University of Iowa. After working for a few other attorneys she opened her own practice in 1980 in Sidney, IA. Vicki had a thriving career until her passing. She was the Fremont County Attorney for 20 years, while maintaining her private practice. Vicki specialized in juvenile cases and thoroughly enjoyed helping the children and families she was involved with.
Vicki enjoyed music, reading and being involved at First Christian Church, where she was a member for many years, and also a youth leader. She also enjoyed spending her free time gardening and planting flowers.
Survivors include her brother, Scott Smith of Sidney, IA; step-father, Ernest "Ernie" Smith of Sidney, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Vicki was preceded in death by her mother; father; and brother, Michael Danley.
Celebration of Life services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the First Christian Church in Tabor, IA. Visitation with the family greeting friends will be 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the First Christian Church in Tabor, IA. Interment of ashes will be at Tabor cemetery following the service. Memorials are suggested to Tabor First Christian Church.
