Vicki B. Erickson

Vicki B Erickson, 70 of Waupaca Wi passed away peacefully in her home on March 23rd, 2026. She was always willing to lend you her ear - or an opinion, wheather you wanted it or not.

She lived fiercely and honestly, never pretending to be anything other than who she was. Her home was her place of comfort, conversation and strong coffee.....don't forget the 2 judgy chihuahuas always on the look out.

Vicki was born in New London WI on May 1st,1955 to George and Lois Dobberstein (Westphal). 

Vicki's life was one of love, resilience, and devotion to her family. She married Charles Cole (1973 - 1975), they spent time living in California before returning back to Wisconsin. Along the way she became a Mother (David), which is the role she cherished most. Later marrying Robert Buckholz (1980 - 1992), they welcomed two children (Melissa & Eric). In that time becoming a caregiver, a role that reflected her natural compassion and desire to help others. Later in life she married Roger Erickson (1992 - 2003). Though their paths eventually went seperate ways, the love they shared remained a meaningful and important part of her story. Vicki remained very good friends with all of her ex husbands through the years.

Vicki worked for a time at Rollie's in Readfiel before finding her true calling as a caregiver. Caring for others wasn't just a job, it was who she was. She spent many years at Crystal Risver Nursing in Waupaca, ending up at DEN Services of Waupaca County taking care of a wonderful woman (Elaine Lehman) in new London, as well as her favorite nephew Dennis Gauerke until her stroke in 2009. Even when she was unable to work, it didn't stop her from trying to help.

Vicki is survived by her children; David Cole, Melissa (Jerod) Cook, Eric (Breanna De Keyser) Buckholz. Grandchildren; Jordyn and Jacob Cook, Breanna, Emerie and Myla Buckholz, and Zoey Belanger. Sister Sherry (Ronald) Handrich, Brother Randy (Grace) Dobberstein, Sister Ronda (Greg) Nassen. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her special friend Peter Grove and her best friend Jacinta Linden- she loved you so very much Zenny!

The family would like to thank Theda Care Hospice Nurses and staff that cared for Vicki. Especially her RN, Chrissy and Peter for being her constant, and anyone that took time to call or stop in and visit or chat with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May, 1st (her 71st Birthday) 2026 at Hidden Waters Golf Course at E4480 State Rd 22-54, Waupaca WI, 54981. 1:00 until 4:00p.m. There will be snacks, water and beer available. Come as you are and lets share some memories!
