Vicki Leigh Harris

     Vicki Leigh Lanning Harris, 65, of Old Fort, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Ridge Crest.

 

     Vicki was born in McDowell County, NC on October 24, 1958 to Robert Lanning and the late Mabel Tilson Banks. She was married to the late Ned Harris, who passed away in 2019. Vicki loved going to the beach. She enjoyed reading and was passionate about animals, especially her dogs. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

 

     In addition to her husband and her mother, Vicki was preceded in death by her step father, Leon Banks.

 

     Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Matthew Moore (Amber), Melissa Hoskins (Mark), and Zach Moore (Cassi); her father, Robert Lanning and step mother Melinda; a brother, Keith Lanning; and eleven grandchildren, Emma Moore, Hunter Hoskins, Adelyn Hoskins, Mason Hoskins, Zoey Moore, Logan Moore, Caylee Collins, Kylie Collins, Jace Collins, Julius Brooks, and Olivia Brooks.

 

     A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Andrew Stover will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
