Vicki Rae Henley, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, left this world on September 23, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on August 9, 1957, in Fulton, Kentucky, Vicki graced the world with a spirit as bright as the sun, illuminating the lives of all who had the honor to know her.
A brilliant student, Vicki graduated as Valedictorian from Hickman County High School in Clinton, Kentucky, in the class of 1975, setting the stage for a life marked by achievement and dedication. She continued her education at Murray State University, further cultivating her intellect and passion. Throughout her professional journey, she made significant contributions at notable companies, including General Motors, McDonnell Douglas, General American, and RGA. Vicki devoted an impressive 25 years of her career to General American, where her industrious nature and unwavering commitment to excellence were evident.
Vicki was more than her career; she exemplified generosity and kindness. She was well-loved by everyone who crossed her path, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her passion for volunteer work mirrored her caring personality, and she found joy in giving back to her community. Those lucky enough to have known her will remember her as the embodiment of warmth, a person who would go to great lengths for anyone in need.
Her vibrant hobbies—baking, cooking, sewing, and refinishing furniture—were just a few of the ways she shared her creativity and love. Her garden, lovingly tended, flourished under her green thumb, reflecting her nurturing spirit and attention to detail. Vicki poured her heart into creating a beautiful home, one that stood as a testament to her hard work and commitment to crafting a life filled with love. She took tremendous pride in her accomplishments, particularly in her daughter and grandson, Christina Gilbert and Brenden Gilbert, who were the lights of her life.
Vicki's legacy of love carries on through her surviving family members: her beloved daughter Christina, grandson Brenden, her nephew Rodger (Dianna) Henley, and her cousin Carolyn (the late Freddie) Kimball. They will forever treasure the memories of laughter, warmth, and unconditional love she bestowed upon them.
She is now reunited in spirit with her parents, Raymond and Verna Henley, and her brother Wayne Henley, whose presence she missed dearly.
A memorial gathering will take place on October 25, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63005.
