Vicki Irene (Shoup) Martin, of rural Skiatook, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Friday evening, July 11, 2025, at the Clarehouse of Tulsa. She was 78 years of age. Vicki was born June 1, 1947, the daughter of Thomas L. and Irene (Gordon) Shoup in Hominy, OK. She was raised and received her education in Hominy, graduating from Hominy High School. She then attended Oklahoma State University for two years. On July 31, 1966, Vicki and James Roy (Jim) Martin were united in marriage. They made their first home in Las Vegas, NV where Jim was employed with the Environmental Protection Agency, before returning to Oklahoma in 1978, making their home in Skiatook. Vicki worked and retired from Ceja Corporation, where she worked in administration. She loved reading, often reading a book each day, but her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Vicki was also an active member of the First Christian Church of Hominy. In earlier years, she spent time with the Prue Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by her children - Bradley Martin & wife Rebecca of Tahlequah, OK and their children Seth & Maddie Martin; Traci Large and husband Bert of Sand Springs, OK and Wendi Lewis & husband Doug of Clinton, OK and their children Brandon Lewis and wife Taylor, and Brian Lewis & wife Roxy Lewis and their children Bennett, Nathan and Lindy Lewis. Also surviving is a sister Patricia Leonard and husband Wayne. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents Tom & Irene Shoup, her husband Jim in February of 2022 and a brother Mike Shoup.
Memorial services for Vicki will be Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:30 am in the sanctuary of the First Christian Church, Hominy with her son-in-law Pastor Doug Lewis officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the AJ Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, OK at a later date.
