Dennis Ray White, age 76, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away on August 15, 2025, at his childhood home in Hominy, Oklahoma.
Dennis was born on July 6, 1949, in Hominy to Lloyd and Connie (Wineiger) White. He graduated from Hominy High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1971. For his bravery and service in combat, Dennis was awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Action Ribbon-a reflection of his courage, sacrifice, and dedication to his country.
Following his military service, Dennis dedicated over 40 years to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He was a skilled instructor in a wide range of subjects, including CPR, first aid, and scuba diving. As an advanced facility staff member, Dennis was instrumental in running the OSU Aquatic Center and played a key role in the reopening of the Colvin Recreation Center in 2004.
He was known for his dedication, quiet strength, and his passion for helping others learn and grow. His calm presence and generous spirit left a lasting impact on the OSU campus and the many lives he touched throughout his career.
Dennis is survived by his brother, Tod White of Hominy; his niece, Krystal & Gary Harris of Bentonville, Arkansas; two nephews, Robert & Erin White of Houston, Texas, and John & Amanda White of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and three great-nieces and nephews-Matthew, Tevin, and Kaisley, all of Bentonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Connie White, and his brother, Stan White.
