Vicki Sue Masters

Vicki Sue Masters, 70, Waukee, Iowa died at Iowa Methodist Hospital on Sunday, October 29, 2023 with her son and daughter in law by her side. Vicki Sue was born October 27, 1953 to Sidney & Frieda (Bassman) Levin. After completing all of her education she stayed in Des Moines as a business entrepreneur.
Vicki had an artistic side of making and collecting 'Tchotchke's" (nick nacks), volunteered with the Junior League of Iowa, Variety Club and Senior Jewish Life Center in Des Moines. She was the proud owner of Medicap Pharmacy and Tennis Tique, corporate travel advisor with Allied Travel and did some part time substitute teaching from time to time.
The "hostess with the mostest" would always step up to the plate and throw the best parties around that would go into the wee hours of the morning. She loved planning these events, drinking and dancing the night away with her closest friends and family.
Survivors include son Josh (Stephanie) Masters, granddaughter Beya Sidney Masters, grandson Cashton Rafael Masters, who both new Vicki as "Bubbie", and brother Avrum (Pnina) Levin, nieces, Elisheva, Zisa, Liba and Mera along with nephews Ydidya and Shmarya Levin.
Preceding her in death were her parents Sidney and Frieda Levin.
Vicki's family will greet friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Iles Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50312, with Jewish Funeral Rites starting at 2:00 pm. Following services there will be a procession to Jewish Glendale Cemetery for burial. Josh & Stephanie Masters will host a home "celebration of life" reception after the committal service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Vicki's memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. The family would like to send a huge "THANK YOU" to all the amazing staff at Methodist Hospital (floor 3 North), Dr. Todd Jensen, Robin and his incredible staff, hospice nurses and the calming and caring team at Iles Dunn's Chapel and Rabbi Neal Schuster for his love and comfort through this difficult time. To all of our friends & family who have traveled from near and far, joined us via zoom, sent messages and phone calls our way the last several days, you are truly the best, that's what life is all about!
