It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vicki Ann Nickels, age 72. Vicki was born on July 27, 1952, in Midland, TX, and departed this life to be with Jesus for eternity on October 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Vicki attended school in Monahans and later in life acquired her GED. She was a very hard worker and worked from a young age. She shared stories of waitressing in her mom’s café, stocking and cashiering at Mitchell’s, providing secretarial services for several oilfield businesses including the family business, Moore Transports for many years with her dad and brothers. She enjoyed pursuing her CDL and driving cross country before finally settling into her lifelong calling, caregiving. She was a devoted CNA in the healthcare industry and was known for her compassionate heart and nurturing spirit. Vicki was a dedicated caretaker in her profession, earning the admiration and gratitude of all those she cared for. Vicki's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of her professional life, Vicki found joy and relaxation in her hobbies. She loved bowling, participating in bowling leagues and travel leagues. She also enjoyed the thrill of bingo and even traveled to do so. In later years, she enjoyed being a part of the San Angelo Senior Citizen’s Center community where she loved a good game of SkipBo, Farkle, or dominoes. These activities and time with treasured friends and family brought her immense happiness and allowed her to connect in a meaningful way.
Vicki is preceded in death by her grandparents; a son, Timothy Dwain; her parents, Bob & Frieda Moore; and a brother, Tim Moore.
Vicki will be dearly missed by her grieving family, including her brother, Ronnie Moore & wife, Bettyann of Odessa; daughter, Brandi & husband, Gerry Petree of Midland; son, Jason Nickels & wife, Michaela Allenbaugh of Little River Academy; nine grandchildren, Timothy & wife, Vivi of Odessa, Ryan of Midland, Camilla Brooke of Monahans, Tristin Gregory & husband, Aaron of San Angelo, Alonna Long & husband, Matthew of Brady, Kelsey Perez & husband, Bo of San Antonio, Jordan Nickels of Monahans, Nathan Foy and Cheyenne Nickels of Little River Academy; seven great grandchildren, Addilyn & Aschten, Madden, Duke, & Meredith, Tess & James, Gabey and other foster loves; and the bonus babies; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The cherished memories they shared will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
In honoring Vicki's life and legacy, a viewing will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home and family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Jasso officiating. Following the service, burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are as follows: Jason Nickels, Timothy Moore, Ryan Moore, Brian Moore, Randy Moore, Kevin Moore, Scott Moore, Erik Moore, and Brian Herring.
Honorary Pallbearers are as follows: Nathan Foy, Larry Dwain Nickels Jr., and Doug Herring.
