Vicki Pocock Obituary
Vicki Lynn (Farver) Pocock, aged 73, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, in her home in Mount Airy, Maryland.
Born on February 22, 1951, in Frederick, Maryland, Vicki spent her life nurturing her passions and those around her. She graduated from Linganore High School in June of 1969 where she met her husband, Gary. They were married in September of 1969, and shortly after graduating, she spent 2 years in Rota, Spain, while her husband served in the Navy. While in Spain, Vicki and her husband welcomed their first child, Tracy and they returned home to Mount Airy in 1971. When they returned home they started building their house, which she made a home to many. After completing their home, they welcomed their son lan in 1975.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gary Pocock, and her beloved children. Her Daughter Tracy Solomon and husband Dan Solomon, of Hedgesville, West Virginia. Her son lan Pocock, of Mount Airy, Maryland, and her cherished grandchildren, Danyeil Morgan, Joshua Elsbree, Natalie Solomon, Jacob Pocock, and Hope Pocock. Also, a proud great-grandmother to Christian Morgan, Waylon Carr, Ammon Morgan IV, Jameson Elsbree, and Kohen Montesino. She is also survived by her sister Faye Beber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry "Bud" and Helen "Pat" Click Farver.
Vicki was a dedicated animal lover and farm owner of Never Done Acres where she cared for numerous animals, including her beloved goats and her flock of chickens which allowed her to become a Maryland certified Egg Supplier. She managed/owned her own sewing business, Ma's Stitches, where she took pride in working closely with her customers, ensuring their happiness with her craftsmanship. She also was the Manager and Partial Owner of Pocock and Son Trucking for 15 years and throughout the years worked as a home Daycare Provider, Phone Company Dispatcher, Chiropractic Office Manager, Insurance Biller, and Hearing Aid Manager/Tech, among many other occupations and all while being an active mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Gardening, caring for her flower beds and Koi Pond were on a long list of her cherished activities, reflecting her love for nurturing life in all forms.
She was "Mom" to her children, "Mammie" to her grandkids and great-grandkids, and "Ma" to all her other "adopted" children, of which there are too many to name. She was a force of love, and passion and gave everything but expected nothing in return. She lived her life for her family and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
