Vicki Lynn Rowbottom, 71, was surrounded by her family when she passed away at home on February 29, 2024.
Vicki was born on March 1, 1952, in Kansas City, MO where she was raised by her mother Jackie. She had four brothers (Mike, Rick, Pat and Steve) and two sisters (Pam and Stephanie).
While attending middle school, Vicki met Victor Rowbottom. They fell in love when she was just 13 years old and they continued dating through high school. They married on February 28, 1970 and eventually settled down in Johnson County, KS where they raised their two children Chan and Jason.
She worked for Johnson County Mental Health for many years before moving to Shawnee Mission School District in the accounting department where she retired in 1999. After working, she watched her two grandchildren, Cameron and Ally, for nearly 12 years. She loved nothing more than being Nana.
She loved music and was an amazing dancer. She also love being outside either at the pool with her family or at Stockton Lake. She could also roll a mean bowling ball. She was a very hard worker, a devoted mother and grandmother and possibly the best sister anyone ever had. She was extremely patient and sacrificed herself for her family. She will be missed greatly.
Vicki is survived by her brothers Mike, Rick and Steve, her sisters Pam and Steph, her daughter Chan, her son-in-law Terric, her grandchildren Cameron and Ally and her son Jason. She was preceded in death by her mother Jackie, her brother Pat and her husband Vic.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday March 23, 2024 at Coaches Bar in Overland Park from 1pm-4pm.
