Bergen –Vickie Almquist, 74, of Bergen, passed away on Wednesday, (August 6, 2025) at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester.

Vickie was born September 6, 1950 in North Platte, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Earl and F. Eileen (Talbot) Almquist.

Vickie graduated from Pratt University in Brooklyn NY with a degree in fashion design. She lived for almost 40 years in Brooklyn and NYC. She was the studio manager for graphic arts company Reign & Califano in midtown. Vickie also worked as a Graphics Designer for many magazines, including Family Circle and Martha Stewarts Living, until her retirement from Bertelsmann Magazine.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, and painting. She also loved cooking and baking. She was also involved in the Bergen Triangle Club (Vice President), Bergen Business and Civic Association, Village of Bergen Planning Board, past member of the Bergen Park Committee, and the Byron Bergen Public Library Book club.

Survivors include four siblings, Joel (Tanya Chermak) Almquist of Boston, MA; Dr. Robert (Dr. Perry) Almquist of Charlotte, NC; Eric (Jill) Almquist of Staten Island; and Rebecca (Peter) Quartieri of Bergen. Her nephews, David (Meghan), Ryan, Conor, Alex, Will (Garland), and Tyler Almquist also survive.

Visitation will be held on August 25, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm with a memorial service to follow at H.E. Turner & Co., Inc. Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake Street, Bergen. Burial will immediately follow the memorial service at Mt. Rest Cemetery, Bergen.

Memorials may be made to – the Byron Bergen Public Library, 13 S Lake Ave, Bergen, NY 14416, or the Memorial Art Gallery Art Education Program, 500 University Ave, Rochester, NY 14607.
