Vickie Broadway Obituary
AKRON - Vickie Lynn Broadway, 58, passed away July 3, 2025.
Born in Barberton, she was a resident of the Akron area, a 1984 graduate of Stow High School, and then later received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Walsh University, specializing in pediatrics, (BSN and RN) . Her love of caring for others started when she worked as a paramedic but spent most of her career as the EMS Coordinator at Akron Children’s Hospital.
She truly enjoyed just spending time with her friends and family and never missed a stock car race her husband, John, was competing in, or a Wednesday family dinner night.
Vickie is best known for her love of family and friends, her fight and courage and mostly her sassiness!
Vickie is survived by her husband of 25 years, John Breehl; parents, Gary and Linda Broadway; brother, Alan (Lisa); nephews, Dakota (Katy) Broadway and Hunter Broadway; stepsons, Johnathon, Nicholas and Joseph (Kristabelle) Breehl, and step-grandchildren, Johnathon, Jr., Brayden and Orion Breehl.
Reverend Eric Lloyd will conduct service at 2 PM, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, where friends may call from 11 AM to service time.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Aishel House, 1955 University Blvd., Houston, TX 77030 ~ aishelhouse.org
The Aishel House was instrumental in Vickie being able to travel to MD Anderson Cancer Center with her family to receive treatment during her 14-year battle.
