Vickie Hughes

BELMONT ---- Vickie Marie Hughes, 66, of Hicks Road, passed away at her residence on Sunday, October 26, 2025 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Vickie was born on August 27, 1959, in Laconia, the daughter of Richard and Vivian (Crawford) Hughes. The Lakes Region was her home, having resided there her entire life.

Vickie was employed at Aavid Thermology for many decades. Her family remains grateful for all the support that her co-workers provided while she fought cancer.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, often creating blankets or hats for friends and loved ones. She enjoyed getting lost in a good book with the warmth of a beloved pet in her lap. Vickie was always willing to give more than she ever asked for, often opening her door to help others in need. Her giving spirit was apparent to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved her family above all.

Vickie is survived by her sons Michael Hughes and his wife Eleftheria Keans, Derry, NH and Stephen Flanders Belmont, NH, grandchildren Ethan Hughes and Costas Keans, and sister Marlene Frasier, Lancaster, NH. In addition to her parents, Vickie is predeceased by her life partner James Toner, and her sisters Grace Whittier and Joanne Hughes.

A Calling Hour will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 9:00am-10am in the Carriage House at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home,164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00am at the funeral home.

Burial will be held later at the Union Cemetery in Laconia, NH.
