Vickie Stangeland, age 65, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.
Vickie was the heart of her home and the kind of woman who made everyone feel instantly welcome. A proud Army mom, Granny and legendary homemaker with a lifelong love for animals and motorcycles, she balanced warmth and edge effortlessly—always greeting others with a radiant smile and an infectious laugh that could light up any room. To know Vickie was to feel at home; her presence carried comfort, joy, and radiated unconditional love.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Chuck; her eldest son, Kenny (Angie); and her daughters, Carrie (Victor) and Sarah (Kerby), Grandchildren Wisteria, Samantha and Emmalee, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Carol; her son, TJ; and her granddaughter, Daisy, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
In accordance with Vickie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A simple memorial will be held at the American Legion Post #283 to celebrate her life on Sunday, January 11th at 2pm, and she will be cremated. Those who loved her are invited to remember her not with sorrow, but with smiles, laughter, and the kind of love she so freely gave.
Vickie’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the home she built, and the countless hearts she touched.
