Vickie Lynn Steinle

On Saturday, July 1, 2023, our beloved mother, Vickie Lynn Steinle of Dorrance, Ks age 77 passed away peacefully with her sons by her side after a long hard battle with cancer. She was born on February 23, 1946, to Vernon L. and Edna A. (Schmidt) Dumler in Russell, Ks. She was united in marriage to Marlyn D. Steinle on May 29, 1965. They made their home in Dorrance, Ks, and were blessed with four sons: Brent, Brian, Todd, and Kendall.
Vickie was a devoted mother/housewife, while her children were young. Later in life, she worked for Wilson Rehab Center as a custodian for 20+ years. She retired in Housekeeping at the Great Bend Health and Rehab nursing home. After retirement, she went to work for USD 407 as a custodian and continued until her illness no longer allowed her. She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Dorrance, Ks, and served on the church council as well as WELCA.
Vickie truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, cooking, chatting with her sisters, working in her yard, and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Rodney. Vickie always had a smile even on her darkest days; she brought joy to many no matter where she went.
Vickie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that no one could match.
Vickie is survived by her sons, Brent (Kimberly) Steinle of Lucas, Ks, Brian (Tami) Steinle of Lucas, Ks, Todd (Lori) Steinle of Wilson, Ks, and Kendall Steinle of Dorrance, Ks; sisters, Norma Jean (Bob) Hodge of Salina, Ks, JoAnn (Jim) Srna of Salina, Ks; brother-in-law, Francis Steinle of McPherson, Ks; 11 grandchildren, Brittni (Boone) Wells of Salina, Bailee Steinle of Salina, Trai (Jazmayn) Heenan of Mulvane, Ks, Ty (Latisha) Heenan of Sylvan Grove, Ks, Jaxson Heenan of Lucas, Ks; Taumi (Andy) Boyce of Emporia, Ks, Brianna (Riggs) Walter of Lincon, Ks, Jeffrey (Katie) Feil of McPherson, Ks, Kyle (Adriane) Steinle of Tribune, Ks, Kenny (Kristina) Steinle of Laurel, NE, and Karlie (Jacob) Lunz of Holdridge, NE; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlyn; and granddaughter, Sarah Steinle.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10:30 AM, at the First Lutheran Church in Dorrance. Inurnment will follow in the Dorrance City Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Dorrance American Legion.
