Vickie Winsauer passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, at the age of 74.
Vickie was born in Del Norte, Colorado, and grew up in the San Luis Valley. She spent most of her life in Denver, where she married, raised her family, and built a life full of quiet strength and deep love. She dedicated many years to the community at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, where she worked in the cafeteria, after-school care, and as a teacher's assistant-always with kindness, patience, and a ready smile for every student.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.G. and Bernice Betenbough; her husband, David Winsauer; and her brother, Glen Betenbough.
Vickie is survived by her children, Nicole Rufener and Paul Winsauer; her beloved grandchildren, Poppie and Hazel Rufener, and Izabella and Lucas Winsauer; and her sisters, Trudy Silverman, Karen Lofton, and Jo Jordan.
Vickie will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle humor, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and quiet grace.
A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista.
