Sadly, on October 17, 2025, Vicky Lynn Butler of Wilmot Township passed away at the age of 73. Vicky was born to Lawrence and Evelyn McDermott on August 07, 1952, in Crawford County.
Vicky loved many things in life, including going to yard sales, bingo, thrift shopping, and collecting moose decorations. She loved to be outside and was an avid animal lover willing to hold any little critter her granddaughter Alice could find. Vicky was also a traveler, having lived in 48 different U.S. states. Beyond anything else, Vicky loved her family most of all and cherished them very much.
Vicky is survived by her son, Garrett D. Bailey III, daughter-in-law, Christina Bailey, and granddaughter, Alice Bailey, all of Wilmot Township. Also surviving are her sister, Charlene McDermott of Gaylord, niece, Tammy Tuttle, nephews Richard Tuttle and Matthew McDermott, along with many great nieces and nephews.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Evelyn McDermott, brother, Jr. Lawrence McDermott, and sister, Katherine McDermott Tuttle
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Church of the Nazarene, 1399 Wilkinson Road in Gaylord, Michigan. Gathering and visiting with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the Memorial services starting at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Mill Street Restaurant, located at 7800 Mills St., Vanderbilt, MI, starting at 1:30 pm.
